The Z-70s are basically product improved versions of the Z-62/63 SMG. There are no serious changes to the overall layout or method of construction and the guns are the same size and weight. The 40 round magazine was apparently discontinued for this weapon. Z-70s are only made in 9 mm Parabellum.

The Star Model Z62 is a submachine gun of Spanish origin which was developed to replace the Star Model Z45 in 1962. [2] The Star Model Z62 is a blowback operated firearm which fires from an open bolt. Earlier variants came with a double crescent trigger for single and full auto. Uses a double crescent trigger for semi/full auto.

Star Z62 is a conventional blowback operated, selective fire submachine gun. The tubular receiver in its front part also acts as a heatshield, the cocking handle is located at the left side and does not move when gun is fired.
