Zen Chen is a Professor of computer science at National Chiao Tung University, Hsin-Chu, Taiwan, R.O.C. He received the Ph.D. degree in electrical engineering from Purdue University, West Lafayette, IN.

We are developing cellular cryoET workflows to directly image the macromolecules in cells. We also employ other biochemistry, chemical biology, structural biology, and single-cell approaches to understand the protein dynamics during ciliary beatings and how cilia are built step by step.

My current research focuses on improving the efficiency of physical simulations by investigating the physical characteristics and geometric properties of thin shell models. I aim to develop efficient and precise models for simulating cloth behavior.
