The ZiS-5V ("V" standing for "simplified"), was produced from May 1942 in Ulyanovsk, and later in Miass and ultimately in Moskow as well. This helped reaching a large production in shorter time for a total of 83,000 ZiS-5 and ZiS-5V during wartime, in 1941-45.

The ZIS-5 (Russian: ЗиС-5) was a 4x2 Soviet truck produced by Moscow ZIS factory from October 1933 on. It was an almost identical copy of the American Autocar Dispatch Model SA truck.

2002年2月10日 · ZIS-5 was based on an american Autocar truck. In 1941 the production line at ZIS was stopped and moved to Ulianovsk [UAZ] and to Miass [UralZIS/UralAZ]. UAZ-ZIS produced ZIS-5 from 1942-1944. By 1942 the main ZIS located in Moscow restarted production of ZIS-5 and continued until 1947.

2014年8月7日 · The ZIS-5V vehicle, a four-wheeled high-sided truck with 4×2 axle arrangement, and payload of 3 tons, was one of the basic Soviet vehicles during the World War II, the second most numerous war time truck after GAZ-AA, according to the company.

The ZIS-5 was up to the strains of the east front, better than many more modern German lorries. It was propelled by a 76 HP petrol engine. Typical for the ZIS-5 was for example the asymmetric attached brace in the windshield. At the beginning of war against the Soviet Union, the Red Army had 104,200 exemplars of this type.
