It exhibits YS of 386 MPa, UTS of 443 MPa, and EL of 31%, far beyond the generally accepted benchmark for orthopedic implants (i.e., 230 MPa, 300 MPa, 15%). Moreover, work-hardening strain of the alloy reaches 11.6%, which is more than 4 times that of other 300 MPa Zn-Mn based alloys.
