Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) is an aphid -borne potyvirus, regarded as a major pathogen of cucurbits in most regions of the world where these crops are cultivated. ZYMV affects all cucurbits including pumpkins, squashes, [1] vegetable marrows, courgettes, melons, watermelons, cucumbers, gherkins and various gourds especially zucchinis.

Zucchini Mosaic Virus (ZYMV) is an important virus of cucurbit crops and can cause severe losses. Identification: Leaves are severely distorted, reduced in size, and develop dark green blisters, serrated edges, and other deformations.

Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) is a relatively recently described virus disease of cucurbits, first identified in Europe in 1981. It has since been reported from most southern and southwestern states and was found in New York State in 1983.

Unlike fungal diseases such as powdery mildew, which are caused by environmental factors such as humidity and soil-borne pathogens, zucchini mosaic virus (also known as zucchini yellow mosaic virus, or ZYMV) only has one known origin: insects.

Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV; family Potyviridae) is a single-stranded positive-sense RNA virus that is an important pathogen of cucurbits (squash, melon and cucumbers).

It causes economically important diseases in zucchini squash, muskmelon, cucumber, and watermelon. Symptoms consist of severe mosaic, yellowing, shoestringing, stunting, and distortions of fruit and seed (Fig. 14-40C).

2007年1月24日 · Some ZYMV strains cause symptomless infection as in Ranunculus sardous, Nicotiana benthamiana and Sesamum indicum. ZYMV causes stunting and major foliar deformation with dark green blisters and mosaics in cucurbit hosts, eventually developing a filamentous leaf phenotype.

Zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV) is an aphid-borne virus that causes yield losses and fruit quality defects in cucurbit crops. ZYMV infects all cultivated cucurbit types including cucumber, pumpkin, rockmelon, squash, watermelon and zucchini.

The causal agent, zucchini yellow mosaic virus (ZYMV), was reported almost simultaneously in Italy and France, where it was named muskmelon yellow stunt virus. Presently, it is known to occur in 22 countries on five continents, where it has often caused devastating epidemics.
