The Bóbr (Czech: Bobr, German: Bober, German pronunciation ⓘ) is a river which carries water through the north of the Czech Republic and the southwest of Poland. It is a left tributary of the Oder. [1] Its Polish name translates directly to 'beaver'.

Canoe trips on the Bóbr River usually begin below the old dam in Pilchowice or Nielestno. The 50-meter-thick concrete structure from the early 20th century was the largest dam in Europe at the time of its construction.

The Pilchowice Dam (Polish: Zapora Pilchowice) is the highest stone and arch dam and the second highest (after Solina), [1] as well as the second oldest (after the dam in Leśna), hydroelectric dam in Poland, located near the village of Pilchowice, Lower Silesian Voivodeship.
