Are there affordable DCTs? : r/CarTrackDays - Reddit
Not a DCT but Camaro/Mustang 10 speeds are everything you need for a track day. I have no supporting evidence but they are most likely more reliable than any “entry level DCT” on track. I say this because DCT clutch packs are not easy to design and for affordable cars they most likely are not as robust as a torque converter.

2023年11月15日 · Oil every 5k, spark plugs every 37k, DCT fluid every 30k, diff fluid every 30k. The only “preventative maintenance” over the past 8 years I did was switching out the bearings for BE extra clearance bearings which permanently fixes the (overblown) bearing wear problem, which cost me $2k all in, and I replaced the throttle actuators which ...
Technically, which automatic transmission is ideal for India?
Dual clutch transmissions can be either wet or dry with the wet ones offering much better reliability. The DQ200 DSG DCT gearbox offered in the old Polo, Vento Virtus, Slavia etc 1.5 engines was/is notorious for overheating and other issues whereas the DQ250 offered in Jetta, Octavia etc is a wet one and has been more reliable comparatively.

2024年3月19日 · Don’t forget that BMW did put a Getrag DCT in a couple of non-M cars too, like the 135is. IIRC that’s as far downmarket as the DCTs from BMW got. Impressed you remembered them using GM autos on some cars, though. Most people don’t know that.

2015年5月6日 · While the base units may be the similar (both dct) they certainly aren't the same. Porsche designed theirs with ZF and are the only ones using the pdk. Forgot to grab the wiki link by you're welcome to go look it up. A Cayenne is fairly similar to a Tuareg too but driving the Cayenne at the limit is quite different than the Taureg.
Will the ZF-8 kill the DCT? : r/cars - Reddit
A large reason rear/mid-engine cars stick with DCT is because the ZF 8HP is too long. That's why you'll notice all the performance front engine cars like the Audi RS and BMW M going with the ZF 8HP while front engine transverse or mid/rear engine cars …

2016年12月20日 · Other affordable cars that have it include the new Hyundai Elantra Eco, Hyundai Veloster, the V6 version of the Passat, the Golf GTI, the Golf R, Acura ILX, Acura TSX (the Acura ones are special because they have a torque converter that make them also very smooth for regular low speed driving), and the Smart Fortwo.
Confession of a Manual Diehard That Bought a DCT : r/cars - Reddit
What you're saying about muddy, vague manuals in most economy cars is true though. They're not designed for the car they're in. DCT still doesn't give me the level of control I'd like over a vehicle when I'm driving and for me it always comes down to a manual. I appreciate driving a DCT car much more than a shitty auto trans though for sure.
Is Sonet Dct reliable option for traffic and hilly areas - Reddit
And as someone who has owned DCT cars for 10+ years and also as someone who knows folks who flip cars for a living and I know four mechanic FNGs who service German cars for a living and I myself work for a German car manufacturer. So I literally do this for a living. So trust me when I say, modern DCT reliability has been blown out of proportion.
Why is everyone complaining about Hyundai's DCT? : r/cars - Reddit
2022年12月30日 · The 7 speed is a dry DCT and really one of the better dry DCTs, but it's still a dry clutch which means it has all the issues associated with them. It had the most issues in the heavier Tuscon. Plus it does not like to be driven like a torque converter auto. You really need to understand what a DCT does and drive it more like a manual.
