Sep 25, 2020 · Hi guys, I'm running iOS 14 and have a few questions about the files app. If I drag and drop files (documents, pictures etc) on my Mac to the iCloud drive, when I look at these files on my iPhone they have a cloud icon with a downward arrow. I know this means that the documents are held in the cloud and I need to click the arrow to download them.

Feb 27, 2015 · A cloud with a down arrow, means it it in the process of downloading to your local drive. A cloud with several slashes across it means that it is trying to connect to the iCloud server. A cloud with a lightning bolt means that you are currently disconnected from the iCloud server

Nov 5, 2024 · Also my husband has the exact same iPhone, same iOS version, same iCloud family account and he doesn’t have this alert. Whatever this is it appears to be populating the “Apple ID Suggestions” area (see attached screenshots) to spoof a T&C update and prompt an affirmative response that triggers goodness knows what.

Jun 16, 2018 · that is not what iCloud does - it is NOT an off site storage location nor is it a backup service - it is a syncing service and all photos will be on all connected devices - you use optimized photos for devices with limited storage - services like DropBox provide off site storage but they can not be used with the Photos App - it must have its photos in the local library

Nov 16, 2024 · I love this phone and by using a biometric password manager with VPN service have been able to bypass Apple’s lack of OS support & security updates. The incompatibility of IOS 15.8.3 with iCloud will require finding cloud service completely independent of Apple. Hopefully Apple will eventually stop asking me to agree to iCloud terms.

Jan 9, 2018 · FYI, just because it has a cloud symbol (as in step 4 of the above subsection) does not mean it is coming from the cloud. The "cloud" does not have any of your apps (only possibly your app data, i.e., level & position within a game). When you delete the app from your iPhone, that data should be deleted as well.
