The pKa Table Is Your Friend - Master Organic Chemistry
2010年6月18日 · To calculate the Isoelectric point of an amino acid or peptide (or protein, if you are daring), you take the pKa of the carboxylic acid (between 2 and 4 usually) and the amine (9-11), add them, and divide by 2 for the case of an amino acid with no side chain that has a …
Acid and Base Chart — Table of Acids & Bases - MilliporeSigma
Use this acids and bases chart to find the relative strength of the most common acids and bases. This acid-base chart includes the Ka value for reference along with the chemical's formula and the acid’s conjugate base. The acid and base chart is a reference table designed to make determining the strength of acids and bases simpler.

The pKa measures how tightly a proton is held by a Bronsted acid. A pKa may be a small, negative number, such as -3 or -5. It may be a larger, positive number, such as 30 or 50. The lower the pKa of a Bronsted acid, the more easily it gives up its proton.
Ions like Al3+ and Fe3+ are often used as examples of cations that form acidic aqueous solutions, however acid-base equilibria for the “ions” are not simple. [Compare: ClCH2COOH pKa = 2.85 — has a “normal” titration curve (pH vs. added base). What does it look like?.] An acidic [Al(OH2)6]3+ solution will not titrate this way. Why?
