I'm currently connected to a wireless network (on Windows 7 Home Premium x64), and the notification box shows that I'm connected to the network properly, but the icon itself shows that I'm disconnected.

2012年10月21日 · The wireless icon is different and looks like a bar graph. You should be able to hide that cable connect icon through the customize task bar options and then check why the wireless connection icon is not showing in the task bar -it may be there but hidden, in which case set it to show. See how that goes and please report back.

2012年3月7日 · Since my system restore sets it back before an update is installed, then I think it's because of an update. And the most recent update since the Red X was an update for windows defender, and I can't uninstall the update, or whatnot. I'm getting really desperate here, guys. Please help. Thanks in advance. I run Windows 7 Home Premium x64.

2010年3月2日 · The red x on the speaker icon is definitely a glitch in Windows 7. I've had that happen to me since day one. Even when I have only just installed Windows 7 and hardly added any programs to it, I see that. Just like you said mate, the sound still works even though the red x (I assume) tells me that it shouldn't.
