Schoology apparently censors messages, but its having the opposite effect. My daughter (9th grade) messaged a teacher yesterday when she submitted a group project. Something along the lines of "it didn't turn out exactly like we envisioned, but we all tried really hard on it."

That would allow you to practice posting assignments, complete and submit the assignments as students, and see what to expect as teachers.
