2010年2月21日 · Agree with bridgebuster. Would like to add that some codes, AASHTO for one, notes that pile expected to be driven less than 10' shall be socketed no less than 10'. Also in some cases, geotechs will recommend grouting the pile in rather than sand backfill. Regards, Qshake Eng-Tips Forums:Real Solutions for Real Problems Really Quick.

Drilled Shafts socketed into bedrock - Foundation engineering
2012年12月27日 · - 3 feet diameter drilled shaft socketed 5 to 10 feet into bedrock - shaft has to resist an uplift force of approximately 200 kips - subsurface conditions consist of approximately 8 to 13 feet overburden loose soil over bedrock. Groundwater very shallow. - I analyze the concrete/rock bond strength for the lateral surface of the rock socket.
socketed drilled shaft permanent casing - Eng-Tips
2019年1月14日 · IBC 1810.3.9.6 indicates: "Socketed drilled shafts shall have a permanent pipe or tube casing that extends down to bedrock and an uncased socket drilled into bedrock, both filled with concrete." Any ideas why IBC requires permanent casing vs. temporary casing?
Lpile Analysis for Drilled Shafts socketed into Limestone Bedrock
2010年3月11日 · I am also a bit confused as to if Lpile works for rock socketed shafts because the technical manual states "that the case where moment at the tip of the pile is not equal to zero is not treated by the procedure presented", and if the pile is socketed into rock this would be a fixed-fixed condition and there would be a moment at the tip of the pile

Influence zone of friction pile socketed in rock - Foundation ...
2009年4月4日 · This means that if L/D > 4 the influence zone at the tip of the pile socketed in the rock is minimal. Currently, we have a project a high rise building and is located in an area that from ground level to -9m is unsuitable soil, -10m to -17m different layers of weak rock (calcilutite and calcisiltite) and -17m to below is limestone/aquifer.
Cover requirements for steel piles socketed into rock?
2014年10月8日 · There is a lot of examples available to help you to decide on the chloride concentration. Being socketed into rock your grouted pile section should last longer than the normal pile I would have thought as the section should be sealed when properly constrcuted. This means you are justified to use a chloride concentration lower than expected.
Drilled Pier Minimum Concrete Strength - Structural engineering …
2016年6月11日 · From what I can tell, the foundation that the IBC is now calling a "socketed drilled shaft" is the same thing that ACI 543R-00 call a Drilled-in Caisson, which has the following definition: "A drilled-in caisson is a special type of CIP concrete pile that is installed as a high-capacity unit carried down to and socketed into bedrock. These ...
