2018年2月11日 · Edit: hijacking this comment to say apparently this article is wrong, the car that did the UK run was an RB26DETT Supra and the sound you hear in the video is not of a V12 but an inline-6. The Toyota Century V12 Supra being sold at auction (actually already sold in January) was put together in 2006, and did 222mph in a test run at the Nardo track.

No, the v12 was a one off for the gold car so that Smokey could try crack 400kmh in Italy with it. It took a ton of work and hassle and fabrication to make it run properly, they even had to use two F-Con pro ecu’s in tandem because one wasn’t capable of running 12 cylinders at the time.

2015年10月9日 · Well, modern V12's can still do that, but you have to remember that the engine (and the whole car) is pretty much unchanged for over 2 decades now maybe even longer, not sure). In the 80's and 90's this was a normal output for V12 luxury cars, e.g. S600 and BMW 850i. The coin test is a good indicator for engine problems in older V12 cars, though.

That would just be great. We have the 2jz Supra, V12 Huayra Supra, a V10 LFA Supra would just make sense. Heck throw in the Tundra V8 in there too just to make the full 6, 8, 10, and 12 cylinder lineup. Or the one of the LS swaps already available. Rampage v8 maybe on a Supra.

2017年12月14日 · as much as I hate to admit it, the guy driving the radical has got to have WAY less experience. Unless this supra is a dedicated track car that's super well built, almost any radical should annihilate almost any Supra with comparable drivers. Hell, handling aside, the cheapest Radical SR series (SR1) does 0-60 in 3.5 seconds.
