Alas there were a *lot* of them made, considering VESA local bus didn’t really become common until a couple years into the 486’s production run.

I don't think the Trident chipset got proper MDA/CGA emulation before the TVGA-8900C chipset, and if you select any other setting than VGA, the card may actually try to display MDA/CGA/EGA at it's native sync rate on ...
