Hornady 5.56mm 55 Grain GMX TAP Barrier - Sniper's Hide
Feb 26, 2020 · Hornady’s 5.56mm 55 grain GMX TAP Barrier ammunition (#81255) uses the same 55 grain GMX projectile that is available as a reloading component. The 55 grain GMX bullet is a monolithic hollow-point, but unlike similar monolithic bullets such as the all-copper Barnes TSX, the Hornady GMX is made from gilding metal (95% copper and 5% zinc). Hence …
Hornady GMX 55gr 224” | Sniper's Hide Forum
Feb 6, 2021 · The Hornady 55 grain GMX .224" projectile is a monolithic gilding-metal hollow point. It does not have a polymer tip. It's significantly longer than a typical lead-core/jacketed FMJ bullet. The bullet is a blind to barriers projectile, though accuracy/precision is not on par with say, the Speer Gold Dot projectiles in this caliber. The relief band also serves as a cannelure.
Hornady GMX problems - help needed | Sniper's Hide Forum
Jun 25, 2012 · Re: Hornady GMX problems - help needed Well with my finding using GMX's, is that they have a secant design and are very sensitive to seating depth. I have shot these GMX's out of 3 rifles and had great results, but they do require some time.
Hornady GMX 70gr. in .223 and general monolithic reloading
May 23, 2020 · I purchased three boxes of Hornady's 70gr. monolithic bullets, the GMX series, only to discover that Hornady says they won't stabilize in a 1:8 twist barrel. Unfortunately this is exactly what I have, 16" Wylde chamber, 1:8 twist in an auto-loader AR-15. I loaded five rounds, H335@23gr. even...
Range Report - 6.5 Creedmoor 120 GR GMX | Sniper's Hide Forum
Aug 20, 2010 · The 120 GMX factory ammo was pretty hot, from the 22.5" barrel I shoot the bullets were passing the chrono avg 3075fps roughly, IMO that's pretty darn quick and I noted that the primers were somewhat flattened, definitely flatter …

300 BLK Bullets 110-125 grain for hunting | Sniper's Hide Forum
Oct 19, 2019 · Hornady 110 CX looks interesting, very similar to the Barnes. They make a 110 GMX, looks very similar in construction, but the profile is different. They don't offer the GMX bullet as a component.
300 blackout, I need starting load data for 125g solid all copper
Mar 2, 2019 · Thanks, Spife That is the first place I looked before even posting here. Unfortunately they don't show any load data for 125g, longer, "all copper" bullets. Copper bullets are usually longer then conventional lead core bullets' of the same weight so usually have more barrel bore drag that equals higher pressures.
Range Report - 300 blackout bullets: light, medium or heavy?
Dec 29, 2019 · so besides the obvious sub vs supers. What do you guys think about say 110 grain vs 125 grain 125 vs 150 150 vs 168 As far as it relates to 300 blackout. Moving up in weight drops velocity very quickly in 300. I'm sure its OK, with say...barnes $1.25 a shot bullets but what about the cheaper...
varget and 308 loads | Sniper's Hide Forum
Mar 12, 2013 · varget and 308 loads Look in the .308 loads section. They're all there. 42-45 is the spread, depending on chamber and seating depth. If your rifle doesn't shoot well with any reasonable Varget load you have a gun problem. Personally, I would also try 4895 and BLC (2) in a 20" barrel, but Varget will work fine.
