MMA's pilots, for the first time, savoured the simple operation of the turbo-prop with its smoothness and quietness. But along with the new aircraft came greater speed (240 knots cruise, rather than the 140 knots of the DC-3) and the increased sophistication of more complex aircraft systems and navigation aids.

MacRobertson Miller Airlines (MMA) was a Western Australian airline that operated between 1927 and 1993. It served a changing roster of destinations in Western Australia and the Northern Territory, concentrated on services between Perth and Darwin via towns in the Pilbara and Kimberley regions.

The Fokker F27 Friendship is a turboprop airliner developed and manufactured by the Dutch aircraft manufacturer Fokker. It is the most numerous post-war aircraft manufactured in the Netherlands; the F27 was also one of the most successful European airliners of its era.

2010年9月28日 · MMA’s F-27 fleet peaked at 10 aircraft. Ansett took a controlling interest in MMA in 1963 and it was gradually incorporated (via Airlines of Western Australia) into the Ansett network and livery by 1984.
