The EF83 is a variable-mu AF voltage amplifying pentode. The thin glass tube envelope is 20 mm in diameter and, excluding the B9A base pins, is 48 mm tall. References: Data-sheet, 3002 & 1040. 2021年11月10日 · The EF83 is a variable gain (mu) pentode, usually use in constant level applications. I'm not sure, that using as VAS stage it's the best choice. The 180F is super VAS tube ... if you want single stage VAS and -relatively- large gain (about 45-50 as triode).

The E83F Mullard pentode is a special quality version of the EF83. The valve was designed for class A audio amplification in telephone equipment where long life was very important. The audio output was 0.87 Watts and the maximum anode dissipation was 2.1 W.

2010年8月29日 · I've been designing an EL34 SIPP-amp, and since I've zero experience on the sound of small signal pentodes, plus I need ample gain and swing, I decided to try pentode input just for the fun of it. Now I'd like to hear your opinions on which one to use: I have loads of E83F, EF184, E180F and E810F laying around.

2004年4月21日 · If you use the search function, you will find several hits for PL84. Regarding it's use, it is electrically equivalent to EL86 except for the heater voltage/current. There are many amplifier schematics out there with EL86, in fact, in some cases it can be used instead of the EL84 with different biassing arrangement.

2005年5月11日 · For the record, The E83F (used as output driver in e.g. UE100 and V76) is just a special quality version of the EF83. Interchangeable, but the EF83 may have lower life time expectancy and isn't guaranteed the same noise specs.

The EF83 is a variable-mu AF voltage amplifying pentode. Lorenz is a German company that was taken over by the American ITT corporation. Through the expanded metal screen can be seen the three wire grids. The suppressor grid has a wide pitch and is mounted close to the anode.
