The Interagency Emergency Health Kit (IEHK) replaces the NEHK 98; the contents were revised by the WHO in collaboration with several agencies including ICRC, IFRC, UNICEF and UNHCR. The IEHK (KMEDKIAE01) consists of: 10 Basic Units (KMEDKIAE01B) and 1 Supplementary Unit (KMEDKIAE01S).

Each emergency kit family is represented by a bright colour; The IEHK colour code is green, as per the example below: The basic module contains the essential medicines and medical devices (renewables and equipment) for a population of 10,000 persons for a period of three months for use by health workers.

IEHK COMPOSITION The IEHK 2015 consists of two different sets of medicines and medical devices: A Basic Unit and a Supplementary Unit. Each IEHK is designed to serve 10,000 people for three months. All units are packed in extra sturdy boxes to ensure its contents are secure and each box is equipped with convienent carrying handles on the sides.
