Our open-outcry trading floor, the Ring, is central to the process of price discovery. The LME Official Prices are discovered on the trading floor. Only Category 1 members can trade in the Ring. Each LME metal is traded in highly liquid five-minute Ring sessions which are themselves representative of global supply and demand.

The Modern-Day LME The LME has the last open-outcry platform in Europe, but it was one of the first to adapt to new technology to run alongside the floor. LME Select was launched in 2001, offering real time bid and offer spreads. It now operates between 00.45 and 19.30 London time every working day.
