2020年11月12日 · Lox-1 (lectin-like oxLDL [oxidized low-density lipoprotein] receptor 1) is a transmembrane protein expressed in endothelial cells, platelets, macrophages, smooth muscle cells, and cardiomyocytes. Activation of Lox-1 by oxLDL is implicated in the progression of atherosclerosis, myocardial fibrosis, and endothelial dysfunction.

Oxidized low-density lipoprotein receptor 1 (Ox-LDL receptor 1) also known as lectin-type oxidized LDL receptor 1 (LOX-1) is a protein that in humans is encoded by the OLR1 gene. [5] [6] LOX-1 is the main receptor for oxidized LDL on endothelial cells, macrophages, smooth muscle cells, [7] and other cell types. [8]

The LOX-1 gene has a NF-κB binding site at its 5’ flanking region, and therefore ox-LDL increases the expression of LOX-1 through NF-κB, leading to a vicious cycle of proinflammatory signaling .
