2024年10月9日 · This toolkit was built to provide the media with information on flooding, flood insurance and the National Flood Insurance Program ahead of flood events.

National Flood Insurance Program (NFIP) provides affordable insurance to property owners and encourages communities to adopt and enforce floodplain management regulations.

Update known issues based on input from a wide range of stakeholders. These changes are intended to improve the usability, credibility and content of the bulletins while presenting them in a streamlined format. Updated tables to compare codes and standards to the NFIP regulations, figures, photos and references are included in each bulletin.

Take photos and videos of all major household items and valuables. Store these documents in a safe waterproof place because they are important when filing insurance claims. Save copies of birth certificates, passports, medical records, and insurance papers in a safe, dry place. Keep original documents in a watertight safety deposit box.
