The plywood will bend a little (and/or you can shim it out as needed) to fit the wall so that the shelves will not have a big difference between them like they do now.

Another permanent hack is to nail into the back of a couple of shelves, in several places per shelf. But I've only had to do either of these on shelves that have been dismantled few times.
