2019年8月20日 · We have a '15 A3 1.8T (US - California) FWD car with 6-speed DSG. I see it has the 0D9 version of the DQ250 DSG transmission. What is difference between this version of the DSG trans (0D9 DQ250-6A) vs the well known 02E DQ250-6F/6Q that seems to have been around much longer?

The 6-speed preselective robotic transmission DQ250 or VW DSG-6 has been produced by the concern since 2003 and is installed on front-wheel drive models under the symbol 02E and all-wheel drive as 0D9. This gearbox with two wet clutches is designed for engines up to 350 Nm of torque. DSG family: DQ250, DQ400e, DQ200, DQ381, DQ500, DL382, DL501.

The 6-speed DSG gearbox DQ250 - 02E (S-tronic) with a dual wet clutch was firstly used in 2003 in cars with engine capacity from 1.6 up to 3.2 l. VW started to install this gearbox serially on a number of vehicles (GOLF, JETTA, PASSAT etc). Expensive models of Seat and Scoda also were equipped with this gearbox.

The first DSG transmission, the DQ250 (02E), is introduced in a series-production car during the launch of the Golf Mk4 R32 back in 2003. During the design Volkswagen AG combined the advantages of manual and automatic transmissions into one completely new gearbox generation: the direct shift gearbox (DSG).
