On May 10, 1944 redesignated 110th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron (110th TRS). On May 25, 1944 the flight echelon flying P-40 Warhawks begin operating from Tadji Airfield. On June 5, 1944 the entire squadron moves to Tadji Airfield.

2019年11月17日 · (US Army via Mr. John Donis) A photo-reconnaissance variant of the P-40N Warhawk assigned to the 110th Tactical Reconnaissance Squadron takes off from a steel runway on an island in the southwest Pacific, 1944-45. At war's end, on Ie Shima, men of the 110th TRS gathered with a signboard scorecard, in front of the squadron's P-51's.

The lOOth TRS, known during WWII as the Musketeers, was first organized as the 110th Aero Squadron on August Sergeant Gutterman and his pilot also encountered British aircraft during their flight.

2022年10月28日 · Redesignated a bomber outfit after WWII, today the unit is the 110th Bomb Squadron, flying the B-2 Spirit out of Whiteman AFB, Missouri, and is known as “Lindbergh’s Own” due to the fact that a young Charles A. Lindbergh was a junior officer in the unit from 1924 to 1929, including the period when he made his famous trans-Atlantic flight.

Warren O. Twiggs of the 71st Tactical Reconnaissance Group started with the 110th TRS Flying Musketeers from New Guinea, and continued until the end of the war. In early 1945, he reported on shooting down his first Japanese warplane. Note that the newspaper got nearly all of it right.

2016年12月31日 · A few years ago, I picked up a huge photo, document and Medal grouping from a Corporal Herb Walsh that served in the photo section of the 110th TRS. Unfortunately I found the several auctions on ebay rather late and was only able to salvage most of the grouping.
