2023年7月14日 · 4TBs in 2230 form factor don’t exist yet, but I believe a few companies are working on it. As for 2TB, the sabrent works, but IMO, it’s pretty bad value for money. Most people I see have been ordering 2TB WD SN740s from aliexpress or ebay, with pretty good success.

However it told me “For a 2TB SSD from Sabrent, you can typically expect impressive sequential read speeds of up to 7,000 MB/s and sequential write speeds of up to 6,850 MB/s”. I don’t know if that’s accurate as they seem relatively high.

2023年9月9日 · 2242 is PCIe 3 ("gen 3") SSD with Phison PS5013-E13TI controller. 2230 is PCIe 4 SSD with Phison PS5021-E21T controller. PCIe 3 is 1GB/s per lane, so the 2242 is only operating at just over half of the theoretical limit and the Rocket would never achieve its rated speed in the Deck's 4x PCIe 3 lanes -- though it's close.

I’ve been hunting for that answer but people seem to phrase it in ambiguous ways or say things like “the 2280 doesn’t fit in the same slot as a 2230”, which isn’t actually true but I know what they’re trying to say. Now I can go buy a Coral TPU for my spare m.2 slot!

2023年7月19日 · Just got my m18 from Dell outlet and I keep seeing that the max ssd capacity is 9TB. I'm confused because it has 4 slots. 2- 2280 and 2-2230 m.2 slots. So is there a cap on capacity where It only registers like 512mb in the 2230's and 4tb in the 2280's? Or could I really get 12Tb Total by getting 2-4TB 2280s and 2 2tb 2230s? Thanks in advance!

2022年11月13日 · I am looking to upgrade SSD of Surface Pro 9 to 1 TB. I have couple of questions. Surface Pro 9 supports gen 4x4 SSD or not. I have seen some Gen 4x4 SSD like (Micron 2450 M.2 2230 1 TB, WD SN740 M.2 2230 1 TB). Has anyone tried gen 4x4 SSD on Surface Pro 9? Any recommendations?

Very few 2242 SSD's are available and they are very expensive. 2230 SSD are currently a better option. i hope the 2242 format will become more popular and less expensive than 2230 SSD's at same performances (because it does have more physical space for components)
