2022年1月10日 · I have no regrets, the .25-35AI is an excellent cartridge with just a bit more Improvement than I needed. If I had it to do over again I would have gone with the milder Improvement of the .25 Bellum or the .25-35 Tomcat.

Making it a .338×56 RS AI, giving it the power between the .338 Federal and the .338-06 A-Square. It would make a great medium to large game round using the 160gr TTSX to the 230gr bullet. It should work on antelope/deer to elk and eastern black bear that weigh 500-800lbs.

Ackley comments in his book about the 25-35 AI as follows: Post-WWII Winchester 25-35 brass will not fire-form to AI chamber dimensions, and will result in case loss most of the time. THAT is the "back edge of the sword" concerning the large increase in case capacity over the OEM chamber.

2012年1月5日 · FYI Gary Reeder in Flagstaff has re-worked the .25-35 AI to make one of his proprietary ctgs. He calls it the .256 Falcon (!). It is basically the old Ackley but the shoulder is moved forward to about max. and only leaves a short neck of about 0.200".

2014年4月16日 · I have a 25-35 Ackley in a 26" Win 1894 rifle. Bought it years ago and it came with the form die set. I shoots pretty good with 117 RN jacketed bullets, but have to use no more than a 90 g. cast as the short Ackley neck won't accommodate long bullets without intruding into the powder space. The case capacity is the same as 250-3000.

2008年8月14日 · William Iorg has posted alot on this cartridge at www.shootersforum.com . The best bullet that you can get is the Rem 86gr flat point . It has 2 cannelures . One for 25-20 and one for 25-35. I have a Marlin 1893 in 25-36. Relined bore that was hand lapped. It is in very good condition for a 100 year old rifle.

2012年12月31日 · I was thinking about reaming it out to 25 Rem(rimmed of course) or 25-35 AI. Based on the water capacities the 25 Rem has 19% more capacity and the AI has 28%. So I was wondering if someone here with the software could run some numbers for me.

2008年5月9日 · For example, compare the 25-35 and the 219 Zipper. The cases are so similar in their tapered shape they should have about the same improvement in capacity. But the chart shows the 25-35 gaining about 25% while the 219 Zipper gains about 6%. Anyone have a chart that shows capacity increase for AI cartridges? Bruce
