All of the light tanks that have that ability in-game were genuinely designed to do that btw, and the 2S38 is still killable there with a long rod to the armor plate that houses the cupolas, and short rod can get through the cupolas.

The 2S38 has amazing anti-aircraft shells, and it also has the ability to track aircraft with an excellent lead-indicator allowing you to shoot down pretty much anything that gets too close. Helicopters and low-flying aircraft literally will not stand a chance against you. The true power of the 2S38 lies in the versatility.

Nov 8, 2023 · The only thing the OTO has over the 2S38 for AA work is the shitty radar. It's a worse AA, at a much higher BR, and a worse tank fighter. It's funny, because a lot of Russian documents for a round will just state a flat '1000m/s' and it mathematically doesn't make sense.

Only the 2S38 can one shot a m1 from the side, with APHE, hstvl can only dream of it. Its APHE has insane spall and what I mainly use with 20-30 apfsds shells which sometimes pen the neck of an M1. The 2S38 has far more utility than the hstvl and the more spall with APHE makes it a lot more consistent and gives you confidence.

I got it to use as an aa. It has a radar and 57mm air burst rounds that are super effective. I bought it after one game, where a 2s38 shot down an enemy plane before it was in range of my strella 10-m2, I didn't get a range with my radar but I'm pretty sure it was like 5km out. I haven't tried it out in battle yet as i don't have a lineup.

In short, 2S38 is a ridiculous combination of very high pen fast firing shells with above average survivability for the type of vehicle it is, with preposterous AA capabilities, which includes tracking lead indicator, top of line electronics suite, and remote turret, all packed tightly into a vehicle that has absolutely no bussiness being 10.0 ...

Jul 17, 2023 · Puma is much more annoying to face than the 2s38, and the lvkv is also infinitely more annoying due to having a MUCH larger magazine for its SLIGHTLY inferior APFSDS. I own all 3, the only thing the 2s38 is slightly better at is SPAA duties, but I’d argue the Beglietpantzer is better in 90% of scenarios. The exception being mid-long range.

Dec 17, 2022 · 2s38 is so fun shooting down chopper jets and tanks jumping in water and going in reverse. The laser detector is cool and warns you when your about to be shot the drone can be really OP if are fast at switching and looking around. Turms is much easier to use just hold W and shoot center mass with the mango.
