2020年3月28日 · FWIW, "3.55" is a buzz word that became popular with the 5.0 Mustang crowd, kinda like 3/4 race cam with SBC guys. 3.55s and 3.73s were common 8.8 axle upgrades since the majority of the Fox bodies came with 2.73 or 3.08 rears.

2019年10月18日 · I have both a 3:55 and a 3:80 trutrac, have run both with a 2500 stall C4. Street wise, the 3:55 is much more driver friendly around town. The 3:80 is roughly a 400rpm increase. At 65 with a 235/45/17 I'm at 3200rpm w the 3:80. The engine is happier with the 3:80 but knowing LA (Huntington beach) the 3:55 will suit your needs better.

2011年11月21日 · 3:25 Trac-Loc here. Two black stripes beats one, every day. Traction is nice too. But if you ever want to let the car get a little sideways, Trac-Loc is a must. Plus, IMO when you put that 3.55 in, you will be smoking that pegleg constantly.

2023年5月27日 · Need some advice. I have stock 3.00 gears with MDL T5. Looking at Alan's setup from his ebay shop. Now to decide on 3.55 or 3.80 gears. With the stock 3.0 gears, it takes a lot of throttle to get going and a lot of jerking/play in first and second. Here are two snapshots showing RPM vs. speed...

2003年4月7日 · I got the 23 tooth gear from Dark Horse Performance (425-227-7778). I had switched from a 2.79 to a 3.55. The number of teeth you will need is driven by the percentage difference between the old and new ratios and the number of teeth on your stock driven gear. In my case it was 3.55/2.79 * 18 teeth = 23 teeth.

2021年4月22日 · I had 3.73's in my 70 Ranchero which was a big block car and I liked it. Went all over the place in it. It was a 4 speed though so no slip. I have a 3.25 gear in my F150 and it is an automatic with a 310. It has a mild bit of stall over stock and I like it too. I tried to find a 3.55 geared third member for it but the 3.25 came up so I got it.

2005年10月12日 · The 3.25 is very liveable on the highway. I drove tens of thousands of highway miles with 3.25 gears. That being said, a change to 3.55 will really wake the car up. You have to determine the usage of the car and what percentage of miles will be highway miles. If it is less than 30% highway I would get the 3.55.

3.00 vs 3.25 gears - Vintage Mustang Forums
2013年12月28日 · There was a huge difference between the two (which is why I went back to 3.20 gears). Now I'm thinking of going up to a 3.55 (to get my cruising up into the power band in 5th gear). If I find a 3rd member with the 3.55 gears already installed, is it just a matter of pulling the axles, then just swapping out the carrier?
