2011年9月7日 · Personally, I prefer to use lame 3.98.4 vbr0 instead of cbr 320 for portable use. Which of course will usually generate a far smaller size size. And I listern to the flac files while I am at the computer. The real reason for me to use vbr0 instead of cbr 320 is as follows. 1- not every second will require 320kb.

2015年7月24日 · A lot depends on provenence. A lot of people get stuff on torrent sites etc. and sometimes it gets up graded (from 128 to 320 as a simple example). This won't make it better, it's still 128 shit. The point is, if you don't know the provenance of a file then you don't know where it's been, how it was made, what processes it's been through.

2008年7月2日 · These mp3 encoders will not use more than 320 kb/s for any portion of time regardless of settings, so a 320 CBR is indeed the maximum quality you can get. That doesn't mean it's a particularly wise choice. Chances are that 320 kb/s would have the same artifacts that -V0 would (in the case that you can hear any artifacts in -V0).

2012年2月17日 · As mentioned above already, BC uses MP3 CBR with 320 kbps. So I consider their MP3 to be superiour to their AAC codec. It's worth mentioning that in my own listening tests with closed EtherCs and a de-jittering Violectric Stack their ALAC files were sounding quite bad. Strong words, but there were quality issues. Maybe someone could confirm.

So 320 kbps CBR offers the best sound quality. 320 kbps VBR doesn't exist (due to the limitation to 320 kbps), so the highest average VBR bitrates available are about 290 kbps and the like (from what I experienced myself with single tracks with LAME set to -V0).
