2010年3月9日 · The Marlin in 327 Federal does sound like a good idea, but the 357 Mag/38 Spec. would have a wider choice of loads and bullets, plus brass is really cheap for the 357/38 rounds compared to the 327 Fed. I am not sure about shooting the 327 Federal in a M1 Carbine that has sparked my interesting.

2014年2月9日 · The potential difference is like a .38 Sp compared to a .357 Mag, or a .44 Sp compared to a .44 Rem Mag--BUT, keep in mind the difference is tied to the case capacity, thus ratio, i.e. the difference between a .44 Sp and a .44 Rem Mag is greater than that between a .38 Sp and a .357 Mag. We're talking proportions.

2005年3月3日 · For 357, the bullet seating screws and FCD Crimp screws are screwed out a little further than 38 Special. In the four die sets, Lee only sells a 357/38 Special set. Lee does offer seperate three die sets for 38 Special and 357. It looks like the sizer is the same, but the bullet seater die and Powder measure expander die are different part numbers.

2016年3月8日 · Even modern small 38 special revolvers are build to only to handle the lower power 38 loads. The +P, +p+ etc. are different higher pressure 38 special loads that fill in the performance area between the 38 and 357 loads. These higher pressure 38 loads should only be used in guns rated for them or in guns built to 357 standards.

If shooting the anemic factory offerings in .38-55, that 255g bullet at 1250 fps will leave much to be desired, whereas the venerable .30-30 has a plethora of excellent factory loadings that will take great skill of a handloader to surpass either in velocity or accuracy in most guns.

2022年8月18日 · I know that this sounds silly, but I want to convert an 1885 Winchester from .32-20 to .38 Special. I have seen references to people, such as Larry Potterfield, converting a .32 Rimfire to .38 Specia/357 Magnum, but that seems to involve a lot of machine work, and recentering the firing pin etc. (Larry said it was a very common coversion.
