2023年9月8日 · My .36 is a Uberti 1862 pocket so that my have something to do with it. It is lighter and a pleasure to shoot (when it is not cap jamming!). My .44s are all Remingtons and "horse pistols" compared to the pocket Navy.

2020年1月2日 · There is a large difference in performance, as when loaded to normal capacity, the .44 is nearly twice as powerful as a .36. Both can achieve similar velocities, but the .44 ball (.454 or so) is twice as heavy. For shooting varmints and plinking .36 will suffice. My 1851 Navy in .36 is my favorite revolver.

2020年12月7日 · I'll go against the grain and say 44. The balls are a little larger and will be easier to handle. Additionally, the gun should be a little lighter as more material is taken out of the barrel with the larger bore. Either of them will do what you're looking for and will work even in self defense if needed (Hickock supposedly favored them).

2018年6月3日 · The 1860 Army .44 has an 8 inch barrel, the 1851 Navy .36 has a 7 1/2 inch barrel. The Navy is hard enough to reholster quickly, particularly if you are using a high-riding slim Jim holster...the extra half inch on the 1860 is just that much harder.
