2012年6月23日 · Prior to 1990 every Gun magazine would have 9mm vs. 45acp articles monthly. After the FBI 10mm adoption and subsequent dropping the .40s&w was born. Finally answering the 9/.45 debate but starting the .40 vs. .45 debate. The .40 gives you a nice sized round at a decent velocity along with good magazine capacity in a 9mm sized weapon.
40 S&W vs. 10 MM vs. 45 ACP For Hunting - 1911Forum
2012年6月30日 · At 25 yards, any of those rounds will be effective. Push it beyond that, and the 10mm would be better. The 45 was designed specifically for 150-200# animals at close range to have maximum impact at short distance. I took a doe at 40 yards with a 230 grain RN .45 cast lead bullet a few years ago.

2001年10月24日 · Ballistics is a complex science. The relative merits of 9mm vs .40 vs. .45 have been hotly debated for years. This is confusing. So I have my own test. When I compare a 9mm cartridge to a .22, the 9mm looks huge. But, when I compare a 9mm to my .45, the 9mm looks puny. So I'd sooner have the .45! ;-) Shallow, but what the heck.
What really is more accurate? .40 vs. .45 - 1911Forum
2003年11月21日 · The reason I ask here is, hopefully someone has compared what I'm really asking this for. I'm considering a Pointman AUSI from DW and I haven't decided on .40 or .45. 2009年6月1日 · Consider this: The SIG 229 capacity is 12 rounds of .40 cal. vs 8 rounds in the SIG 220 .45 Caliber. Another issue is recoil. The higher working pressure of the .40 will result in a sharper recoil vs the .45 Auto When I was face with a similar choice a few years back, I went with a .40 S&W, only because I could share some components with my 10mm.
.40 vs .45 in USPSA, please advise. - 1911Forum
2010年5月30日 · As for .40 versus .45 there is nothing that the .40 can do that the .45 can't do a little better,in my opinion the .45 is even easier for double taps since it's not snappy like the .40. My personal opinion is the .40 is a caliber that sort of falls into place with the .45 gap and 357 Sig, Granted there a good round but there are others that do ...
Recoil in .40S&W 1911 vs. .45 - 1911Forum
2006年2月28日 · A 40 cal has higher pressures than 45 acp, in addition to the powder burning quicker. This combined with the lighter bullet creates a snappy, torquey perceived recoil. All things being equal, the 45 will feel lighter and shoot easier, in terms of recoil.
