HX-77 and crane system on select 40M platforms enable self-supporting logistics without the requirement for additional Material Handling Equipment (MHE). This capability will deliver a joint effect to enable the ADF to operate and fight at a higher tempo, with improved agility, utilising less resources and with greater visibility.

The HX77 was introduced in 2019 alongside Rhienmetall’s 40M, HX81 and 45M Heavy Recovery Vehicle, under Land 121 Phase 3B, which replaces Army’s aging fleet of Unimog, Mack and S-Liner trucks.
