The RX 5700 XT uses a LOT less power than its Vega predecessors (CTRL + F, then type "power consumption"). It actually doesn't use that much more than a GTX 970 3.5GB. I can comfortably recommend the RX 5700 XT with a 500W power supply; you don't have a great PSU, but it should do the job just fine.

So if it’s a decent 500w then no problem, if it’s a low quality 500w it’s a risk to any gpu and system you run with it. There is more to a psu than a wattage sticker.

2023年12月22日 · Yes it's plenty especially paired with that lower power CPU. If you want to reduce power even more you can use Afterburner to undervolt it slightly to 1V max and it'll use under 100W under load at no performance loss.

That said it is important to remember that wattage is not the only thing to consider when purchasing a power supply. You have to consider its build quality as well, and you can't tell that just from the name or wattage rating. "500W PSUs" can range from utter garbage that will burn your house down to high-quality, top-tier units with a 99.9999% ...

2021年4月25日 · Interestingly, I have almost the exact same setup, 3600X and Gigabyte 6700XT Gaming OC, with the exact same PSU. Since installing the card maybe 6-8 weeks ago, I had 2 or 3 power shutdowns, strangely though never when gaming or doing anything high intensive, during those times it has been super stable, therefore I'm not sure if the PSU is at fault.
