Interstate 595 travels an eight lane viaduct along the northern periphery of Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) to Exits 12A/B with U.S. 1 (Federal Highway) at Port Everglades. Officially named the Port Everglades Expressway, it is popularly known as "595" by locals.

595 Express consists of three tolled, reversible Express Lanes. Each lane is 12 feet wide and there is a full 10 foot shoulder on each side. Only two-axle vehicles will be allowed to use the Express Lanes. All users will be charged a toll and must have a SunPass transponder and an associated pre-paid account.

I-595 is Broward County's major east-west thoroughfare used by residents and visitors to get to work, shops, entertainment venues, the airport, Port Everglades and the beaches.
