257 & 6.5 jdj cartridges - Graybeard Outdoors
2005年8月11日 · I you can have just one for deer, the 6.5 JDJ is terrific. I have used 120 gr Speer and Nosler bt's for deer with good results as have most 6.5 fans. The Speer bullet seems a slightly less accurate but tougher on heavier animals. For lighter bullets, I decided on the 6mm JDJ and this shoots the lighter (80 to 95 gr) varmint bullets extremely well.

2003年7月15日 · NO<NO mikey, the 6.5jdj is based on the 225 winchester round! NOT the 444.The 309,375 and 358 jdj's are based on the 444. The beauty of it is it is used in a handgun and delivers near 6.5 swede ballistics. Go with your 25-06 rather than build a 6.5-06, you will be happier in the long run. jh
6.5 JDJ vs. 6.5 x 30 AI - Graybeard Outdoors
2011年12月25日 · It appears by the limited data(far more data available for the 6.5 JDJ) I can find that the same weight bullets can be run alittle faster from the 6.5 x 30 AI. I have a 7-30 Waters and it appears the 6.5 x 30 AI is more or less a necked down 7-30 Waters..Could fireform 30-30s and then neck down to 6.5. any and all thoughts appreciated.

2018年4月24日 · IIRC, the 6.5/.270 JDJ is a proprietary cartridge developed by J.D. Jones of SSK industries. The shoulders are moved forward significantly (shorter neck) and the shoulder angle is also far greater than that of 6.5-06.
7-30 Waters vers 6.5 JDJ - Graybeard Outdoors
2008年3月1日 · Most 6.5 bullets are indeed designed to expand at lower velocities than most 7mm bullets. Given a choice between the 2 cartridges, I would select the 6.5 JDJ every time. I have been very satisfied with mine during the last 16 or 17 years.
6.5 JDJ caliber....which members have one? - Graybeard Outdoors
2004年10月15日 · RE 6.5 JDJ I would love to have a 6.5 JDJ also, but I generally by my barrels used, and have seldom seen the 6.5 JDJ on any of the auction sites or here. I believe Ed's TC's may get one on occasion, but the best place would probably be to get one directly from SSK Ind.
6.5 TCU vs 6.5 JDJ - Graybeard Outdoors
2003年8月10日 · To be as fair as possible in this comparison, we should remember that the 6.5 bullets are generally designed for velocities that are ideal for the 6.5 caliber pistols due to their thinner jackets, but, the 6.5 JDJ due to its 300 extra fps is about 15% better-equipped to effect proper expansion of the bullet at all ranges than the 6.5 TCU.
