6p14p vs EL84 - Telecaster Guitar Forum
2017年1月17日 · The suffix on the end does make a difference. 6P14P tubes are treated like regular EL84s. The 6P14P-EV is a more rugged tube which many folks (like me) use in circuits where a 7189 is more appropriate. There is also a 6P14P-K variant and 6P14P-ER variant. The EV version seems to be the preferred version around here. Know thy tube.

2022年11月6日 · 6p14p-EV or -K for the output stage valves. They sound as good as any other valve and are close to unkillable. They are the de facto choice for Vox and any other amp that rags the output stage. Pre-amp valves tend to last a …

Complete Tube Replacement for Vox AC15C1 - Telecaster Guitar …
2020年6月1日 · For the power valves, hunt down a pair of NOS Soviet 6p14p-EV or -K. They sound great, and can withstand levels of abuse that only a combo can dish out with ease. Beware of expensive imitations. Other than that, Sovtek or JJ seem to work and last quite well. Pre-amp valves. There aren't many factories left now.
6P3S-E instead of 6L6 (Edited, sorry folks 63PS tubes NOT 6P14P)
2022年7月18日 · The 6p14p is an EL84 equivalent. The 6p14p requires a Noval socket. The 6V6/6L6 require an Octal. It is possible to fit two sockets, but don't populate them at the same time. The 6p14p isn't a 20W valve. It will dissipate ~12-14W quite happily, delivering the same ~4-5W clean-ish in a single ended amp, just like an EL84.
Reflector EL84 tubes - Telecaster Guitar Forum
2021年3月18日 · Dear All. Hope everybody is keeping safe and well. I recently purchased 2 sets of the above in quads on eBay. The standard 6P14P x 4 and 6P14P-k x4 They sent more of the 'k' version and less of the plain version, not matched in quantity. All of the tubes were paper labelled with 2 numbers that...
Bugera V5 Infinium speaker/tube mods??? - Telecaster Guitar Forum
2017年3月1日 · I settled on a 6P14P El84. It made a massive difference. Tons of head room and just made the amp sound like it was double the price. Hard to explain tonally. More richness and chime. Pre amp valve swaps din't make as much difference as the EL84. Oh and the standard 6P14P El84 sounded better than the more expensive gold grid ones too. I have ...
good EL84 tubes - Telecaster Guitar Forum
2024年12月26日 · IMO, there is no more robust el84 than the Soviet 6P14P-EV tube. Built for military use. To get the -EV designation, they apparently went through extra hard testing. Spec'ed for >5,000 hours use. I have a pair that is easily +3000 hours and they still test strong. I bought mine from a couple Ukrainian vendors on eBay. I'm sure they could use ...
7189's instead of El84's????? - Telecaster Guitar Forum
2013年3月15日 · The 6P14P is a NOS Russian EL84 equivalent by "Electronka". I have one in use. It /is/ a good EL84, nice and crisp, full range. You have to try these things out. Provided they are not silly money !!! I cannot find a supply of genuine 7189 right-pond, only EL84 and near equivalents like the 6P14P.
EL84 vs EL84M? - Telecaster Guitar Forum
2009年1月15日 · Another solution is to swap the power tubes for these Sovtek EL84M/6P14P-EV offerings. These tubes do a great job of taming the shrill highs and turning the Galaxie's clean into something of beauty. And since these power tubes are essentially 7189 equivalents, they are better suited to the high plate voltages the Galaxie 25 likes to run at.
