2006年10月24日 · 6SL7 is an octal 5751. They do sound different. 6SL7 has lower mu (70), but also a lower Rp. It is inherently quieter and less microphonic than many 12AX7's... other than the 7025 variants. Overlay the curves and you'll see what I mean. Yes, I have tried the 6SL7 in an 18W, but in an 18W bass with EL86 outputs. In a nutshell, spectacular! Cheers!

2012年11月14日 · Among the 3, there's no exact match the way there is with 6SF5 or 6SQ7 and 12AX7. The 6SL7 has the same mu as 5751, at 70. The 6SL7 has a little lower plate resistance and a bit higher Gm; this means you'll get slightly more gain with the 6SL7 than the 5751, when using the same cathode and plate resistors. The 12AT7 seems close, at a mu of 60.

2011年1月17日 · Try a pair (4 triodes) in PP for a 10-15W amp -- it makes a great clean tone. Half of one of these makes a good concertina. The 6SL7 is a bit of a different tube. Let's call it a first cousin to the 12AX7 and 5751. Gain is more like the 5751, but plate resistance is lower.

There are a few 9 pin miniatures with the same gain: 12AU7, 12BH7, 6CG7. Some of the other parameters are likely different to some degree so check the data sheets.
