2012年1月14日 · Hmm, I think the .30-06 is considered a 7.62x63mm and the Jap is considered a 7.65x58mm - so a 5mm trim and use a .311 expander (or something to that effect). I would imagine it is still cheaper than buying new brass, plus it could be rewarding (just don't accidentally put them into a .30-06 rifle)!

2011年2月12日 · My fav's ar PRVI because of price and its re-loadable. Depending on what you are hunting, the 7.62 and 303 bullets are readily available. A fun reach out and touch load is a Hornady 123gr 7.62 Interlock bullet over 52 of Varget or 51 of H4895, it will get out to 300 with some decent accuracy (of course tweak load to your rifle).

If the rounds in the 7.62/8mm range developed for the Springfield and the Mauser 98K are okay for deer hunting, so is the 7.62x54R round developed for the Mosin-Nagant!

Neither are considered ideal for self defense due to the amount and decibel level of the muzzle blast and the type of bullets loaded in 99% of factory ammo. The main advantage of the 7.62x25mm is penetration, but that quickly diminishes when hollowpoint bullets are used instead of FMJ's.
