The game is just outputting 720p models at a 1080 resolution. This means that none of the models have actually been adjusted for a 1080p format. Basically, the Master Collection will look almost identical to the HD Collection running on a 1080p monitor/TV.

MGS4 has unlocked frame rate, it goes higher than 30. Metal Gear Rising PS3: 60fps 720p (I assume 360 is the same) Ground Zeroes and The Phantom Pain PS4: 60fps 1080p. PS3: 30fps 720p. What is the point of all this. Doubt the MSX would be anything other than 60fps. That doesn't mean they created 60 frames of animation for every second though.

Up-converted means 1280x720p in Konamish: Think of it like having an Xbox 360 set to 1080p and playing a game that natively resolves at 720p. No magic goes on to upscale the the game to a higher resolution.
