The BMW R90S is a 900cc sport motorcycle produced by BMW from 1973 to 1976. BMW commissioned designer Hans Muth to oversee the R90S, which became the flagship of the boxer engined "/6" range.

The R90S lasted only three years on the market, gone after 1976 and replaced by the somewhat more sedate and more touring-oriented R100S. The basic 898cc, pushrod-activated, overhead-valve, air-cooled boxer twin made do with Bing CV carburetors and a 9.0:1 compression ratio to make 60hp. In R90S guise, BMW tossed the Bings in favor of high-performance Dell’Orto 38mm units with accelerator pumps.

The R90S was never the hyper sports bike which BMW claimed but it was a supremely confident high-speed performer. With long-travel suspension, superb rider ergonomics and a large fuel tank, the bike allowed the rider to make use of the motor's abilities.

The bike was acquired in 2018 by the seller who subsequently carried out a restoration that was completed in 2019.
