Yamaha continued to offer two different lines: the big YZ remained 360cc in displacement, while the new MX400 was 397cc. The MX was heavier and cheaper, but in a weird twist, most riders preferred it over the pipey YZ360.

2008年2月22日 · My preference would be the '77 because of the classifications. The '78/'79 400 can't run with the 465, I tried in the 70's-81 and even riding the vintage circuit with my '78(bought new), not enough power.

It throws horsepower into comparing apples to oranges. also talking watercooled which allows you to run higher compresion, better manufacturing processes and materials allowing tighter tolerances etc etc...
