2008年5月23日 · there is a Galaga clone for the 8bit and it's not bad at all (except the sound is irritating so turn it down). It's called Hyperblast, I attached the rom and a screenshot. Oh good lord, that's not even close to Galaga. It's more of a Moon Cresta clone, if anything. The only thing that killed Galaga on the 7800 was the sound.
Galaga for the Atari 8-bit - New Breed Software
Namco's wonderful game 'Galaga' was never created for the Atari 8-bit computer. (The only Atari Galaga I know of is the mediocre version for the Atari 7800 game console.) I think a reasonably playable version can be created for the Atari, and have designed some graphics for it.

2008年5月23日 · My vote for Galaga A8, without shit-looking color-palette, and a nice soft-sprite engine to boot (as many sprites as possible, resembling the original...) Worthwhile crusading for! 8-) AtariBlast certainly has lots of soft sprites, let's do it here. If it is a problem of RAM, support the big machines. IDC if it requires 1M and a HD.
Galaga (1981) - The Pixels
2016年6月26日 · Where are the 8-bit classics? But, lo! Amid the flashy, modern plastics and flat screens flashing images of Terminator, Aliens, and Batman was a single arcade cabinet standing all by itself. It was easy to miss for its muted colors and motionless, unlit, painted images. It was a combo Pac-Man/Ms. Pac-Man/Galaga cabinet.

2008年5月23日 · Using 4 colors to display all the graphics in the game works pretty good, because that seems to be a limit of the hardware (4 colors per sprite). Later, with the game already running, you could decide what to do with all the player/missiles.

2008年5月23日 · Here's a quick reformat that'd fit on NTSC: galaga ntsc.png. looking good ! Better than 7800 version imho. It would probably be quickest and most doable to do it like that (simple multicolor mode, hand pixelated to look similar to original as much as it can). I've remembered what 2600 does often to get more colors - change color per scanline.
