The MAK 90 or “Modified AK, 1990”, is a semi-automatic Type 56 assault rifle, chambered in 7.62×39, and produced by Norinco beginning in the year 1990. Generally, these guns were imported with 3, 5-round magazines and wood furniture including a thumbhole stock.

The MAK-90 is a Chinese factory built AK model exported to the USA from China from 1990 through 1994 by two Chinese export companies: Norinco and PolyTech. Following the import ban in 1989, the Chinese developed an AK which met the "sporting purposes" clause.

2017年10月13日 · Back in the day - Early 90's, the only post-ban AK rifles I got to handle were MAK-90 (Chinese), SA85m (Hungarian) and Maddi (Egyptian). I liked the SA85m weight, fit and finish out of all of them. I thought the MAK-90s were rough, heavy, wood was fugly and bluing rusted easily. They do run great and will serve you well.

2012年6月10日 · I prefer the MAC-90s over other AKs for two reasons, 1) they show an overall better quality, fit and finish than most of the others and 2) they all have the thicker 1.5 mm receivers, which I believe helps the overall accuracy of the gun.

2023年11月30日 · AKs were actually pretty scarce back before the 1990s and 2000s. I lived in Massachusetts in the 80s, AK's were not uncommon at all in the LGS. One even had crates of green box ammo priced not far off from .22LR.

2019年8月10日 · AKs have definitely risen in price with the China ban in the 90s and Obama’s sanctions on Russian imports. With new players coming to the market (Zastava and later FEG) prices might drop a bit or at least hold steady going forward.

Usually people who circulate mak-90s know they generally have collector value. Especially with the correct stamps which this doesn't seem to have because it's a sporter. Which I suppose may be of lower value.
