2006年10月23日 · I had a 96 440 XCRSP, great sled once clutched and jetted right. Handled awesome, would embarrass most every other sled in fast ditch/trail running. Only the 38mm carbed XCR's could take it, no XLT stock engine ever beat me, drag or top end. I saw 95 on the speedo many times.

2010年10月4日 · I had a '96 XCR 440 SP and still think it's the best riding sled ever. I raced it on the 30 mile Northwoods Challenge lake races in the '90's plus a few sno-crosses and ovals. We had that sled dialed in.

2017年8月15日 · Its an 96 XCR 440 SP and am wondering if anyone can help for sure identify that it is an SP model. From what I can find online the serial number on the side cover is what appears to be an SP but anyone can change that cover out. And i'm also having some carb issues that seem odd and want to verify that these are the right carbs for the sled.

2011年1月19日 · The 96 440 SP had the standard round 5/8 diameter sway bar on it, I believe the 95 SP and the 97 XC 440 had the adjustable sway bar on them. I still have a old 96 SP rolling chassis laying around but no motor.

2003年12月27日 · Handleing will be unbeatable, usable top speed should be around 85, and the dependability is good, considering that it is a very high-performance 440. It doesn't have the big bump ability of the modern sleds, but it can still pound pretty good with the fox shocks.

Yes, on the '97 xc, the front suspension got changed again for another prototype CRC system, and once again everything was unique only to the '97 xc 440. full production vresion of CRC on a majority of Poo's began in 1998.

2011年9月8日 · The head (or at least the head cover) is from a 96 XCR 440 Special or a 97 XC 440. The engine serial number would indicate that it is a 96 model, but if it were a true XCR Special motor, I think it would be EC45PL-008******, not EC45PL-005***** if I remember correctly.

2008年12月28日 · I picked up a used 96 XCR 440 a few years back. Had people ask if it's the "special". The only place I see special anywhere on the sled is on the heads. It say's XCR Special and they are red. What does this mean? It has adjustable fox shocks which I've read about in many post. This sled is still stock as it was brand new. I only have 1000 miles ...

2009年2月4日 · My 96 ran unreal this way, 600's back in the day were no problem to beat. Only a well set-up XCR engine with the 38mm carbs could take it, but not off the line to 60 mph. I know this is an old post but if you guys are still out there a friend also has one of these old beasts that has been tampered with extensively by previous owners.
