
Porsche 962 - Wikipedia
The Porsche 962 is a sports prototype racing car designed and built by Porsche. Created to replace the Porsche 956, 962 was introduced at the end of 1984 and replaced the 956 in the IMSA's GTP class in 1985 due to regulation changes obsoleting the 956.

In 1987 Richard Lloyd Racing also known as GTi Engineering began production of a limited series of the Porsche 962s. These closely followed the factory design but had a new rear wing and front bodywork. Much of the development work was handled by Nigel Straud who incorporated many Tony Southgate’s Jaguar Group-C elements.

Chassis 962DR1 would be so named as it was built for Rob Dyson racing. However, the very same chassis would be known, according to Richard Lloyd's Racing/GTi Engineering company as RLR 202. Dyson's updated 962 would first appear at West Palm Beach for the fifth round of the IMSA Camel GT championship in 1988.
