Mar 23, 2018 · piCorePlayer AES/EBU "hat"--> XLR --> Genelec digital AES/EBU input For the analog chain I could control volume via piCorePlayer, the DAC or a preamplifier. I would likely use a preamplifier to also connect an analog source. For the digital chain I assume I would have to use piCorePlayer to control the volume. Does all this sound correct?

I just see mostly 'Pro' gear and more expensive products supporting AES/EBU. Would appreciate some extra input. Thanks

May 22, 2019 · I run usb into a Topping D10 and then S/PDIF out of the D10 to a Monarchy DIP. The DIP adds an accurate jitter free clock and outputs AES/EBU. About $250 total for the 2 devices on the preowned market.

Feb 6, 2018 · It's expensive but the RME ADI-2 PRO FS DAC/ADC - features AES/EBU output and volume control. Keeps everything "pro audio " with the Genelecs ! Can use it to drive headphones nice too, so it's not just functioning as just USB to AES3 converter. And it records ! You can feed it from your vinyl turntable and output to the Genelecs.
