罗马尼亚生产本国的akm的名为aim，也称为1963型，aim的主要特征是下护木上有一个前翘的小握把。罗马尼亚的aims（仿制akms，也称1965型）由于采用下翻式折叠枪托，因此前握把改为向后翘。后来罗马尼亚人又生产了一种类似于前东德kms的右侧折叠式枪托。
