The AR-1 had set a new benchmark for loudspeaker technology, but the AR-3 was so outstandingly accurate that experts had trouble identifying whether a recording or a live concert was playing in front of them.

This speaker system is an improved version of the AR-3 Scoker and Tweeter announced in 1959. A 30 cm high compliance cone type woofer is used for the low range. A 3.5 cm dome type unit is used for the middle range and a 2 cm dome type unit is used for the high range.

The AR-3a is a three-way speaker and measures approximately 25” x 14” x 11½ ” inches and weigh about 46lbs each. It´s cabinet is made of real walnut veneer, grills are mostly cream colored. Each speaker has a 12 inch woofer, a dome midrange and a ¾ inch dome tweeter. High and mid-frequencies can be additionally adjusted at the back of each speaker.
