But that doesn't detract from the actual mainline story being a very good, solid, classic Final Fantasy epic. Take your time, the major cause of new players not enjoying ARR is not the story itself, but either them wanting to rush to endgame (for whatever reason), or their buddies rushing them through endgame (also, for no discenable reason).

Jun 17, 2021 · The ARR story isn't as bad as made out to be, but I thought the quests after Ultimate Weapon (i.e. the ARR epilogue quests leading into Heavensward) are an atrocious drawn-out slog even if rushed through with a flying mount.
